  Veterans Memorial Foundation 

There are many ways to fulfill a patriotic duty.

Servicemen and women are called to put their lives on the line for freedom.

Others support patriotic events and memorials to veterans for recognition of their own families and loved ones.

Undertaking the development of a Veterans Memorial to be located at the Galt Cemetery is a formidable task.

Plans for the Veterans Memorial include a large granite monument that will also serve as a columbarium for cremated remains.

A bronze statue will sit atop the granite monument. All military services will be represented and incorporated into the memorial.

The highlight of the monument will be the inscribed bricks formed into a pad where the granite monument will be placed.

The Memorial Foundation will be selling the bricks and the cost of the brick will help defray the cost of the monument.

With sufficient funds there will be markers for various wars and overseas actions.

In addition a certain sum must be set aside to provide perpetual care for the memorial.

DONATIONS FOR THIS PROJECT MAY BE MADE IN SEVERAL WAYS

1. Place a Memorial brick with the name of a veteran in the pad of the memorial.

Donations for memorial bricks may be made for any veteran alive or deceased for donations of $50 or more.

Each brick has three lines of  15 spaces for name, branch of service, date of service, wars or overseas actions, etc.

The placing of a Memorial will insure the veteran's name and service will be permanently recognized for future generations to see

and for them to remember the sacrifices made by veterans to protect our freedom. The donation will help make the memorial and all other work needed to complete the Veterans Memorial.

2. Tax deductible donations of $200 or more will receive a Certificate of Appreciation suitable for framing.

3. Individuals or business donations of $500 or more will be recognized by an engraving to be placed at the Memorial.

4. Business or individual donations of $1,000 or more will be recognized by appropriate engraving at the Memorial.

The tax deductible donation for the Memorial Foundation should be made out to VFW-GACD Memorial Foundation and mailed to 550 C Street Galt CA 95632

 Thank you for your contribution to this project which will honor all men and women who have served in the military and it will bring recognition to the Gait area and Northern California.
